Not so Savvy Cabinetry

September 24th, 2008, PH Design Group

Needless to say, I am not happy with this company.  I had so much hope of creating a working relationship with a local Queen Anne contractor to not only refer, but believe in.  Really.  I gave up referring Savvy Cabinetry to at least ten people because of one lie, and an unpaid invoice.

Judging from an online review, I am not the only one disappointed with Savvy Cabinetry:  http://seattle-wa.yellowusa.com/reviews/y127125345.html

Best Plumbing | Hot August Nights Event

September 2nd, 2008, PH Design Group

p1020934.JPG

I recently attended the yearly Hot August Nights event held at the Best Plumbing Kohler Showroom in Seattle to view the new Kallista line as well as experience a Kohler shower system that does everything except shave your legs.  No joke.  And to top it off, I took a tub with my good friend Brent Martin, owner of Muse Coffee Co. on Queen Anne.  Good times.

It is true, lifestyle expert, Kelley L. Moore and I had the recent honor of having American Master, Mary Veronica Sweeney paint our portraits.  Will I hang this over my fireplace?  Probably.  But for now you can see Kelley and I hanging on the walls at Muse Coffee Co. on Queen Anne for the month of August.

There is nothing like walking into a space filled with found objects.  I love going for walks, picking up random things that catch my eye, sometimes reminding me of someone special in my life.  I actually send rocks, feathers and twigs to my fellow designer, Shannon Baird every now and then.  She and her daughter send found objects to me as well.  In fact, Lydia (Shannon’s daughter) will even apply a shiny finish coat to her findings, which I appreciate.  These are gifts that I would never think of putting out to a garage sale, unlike all of the “now” trends I see in stores every day.  Try it out, involve the family and see what you come up with.  You might surprise yourself…there is a hidden designer in all of us.
